  • What size duffel bag can you carry on a plane?

    A standard carry on bag can measure up to 22 x 14 x 9. A bag this size will need to be placed in the overhead compartment. If you wish to place it under the seat in front of you as a personal item United Airlines allows  17 x 10 x 9. Most airlines have similar measurements within about an inch difference, such as 18 x 14 x 8 .  A soft duffel style will usually be a better choice for a personal item than a hard side bag and give you more options when using different airlines.

  • Is a duffle bag considered a carry on?

    Yes. the size will need to meet the airline standards. It fits easily into overheads and also works as a personal item on most airlines.

  • Are International size requirements the same as the US?

    No, they are typically just a bit smaller. We suggest looking up your International airline to check their specific requirements.

  • Do airlines measure your bags before you board?

    For carry ons, it is at the airline employees (gate agent) discretion. Try to be as accurate as possible when you are flying. If your bag is found to be too large or too heavy you may need to check it.

  • Is this bag water proof?

    It is made of water resistant vegan leather which will protect your belongings from light rain. I have walked from a train station in Milan to our hotel in rainy weather and it dried easily and nothing was wet inside.

  • Is it easy to clean? Will the white bag show dirt easily?

    The vegan leather doesn't show marks or dirt (even the cream color) it is easy to wipe with a damp cloth in the case you do get something on it.

  • Is the bag heavy?

    The bag alone, without accessories, weighs in at 2.5 lbs. So any weight above that will be from what you pack inside. The trolley sleeve is a back saver as it allows you to place your fully loaded bag on the top of your roller bag for travel days.
